We had a wonderful time visiting Grandma and Grandpa Kjar on their mission in Ponhnpei, Micronesia. This is us at the airport.

We visited some old WWII Japanese guns.

We went on a hike to this water fall. It was fun and we came home really muddy because it rains so much there. We had great weather on the trip though. We were really lucky.

We are on a hike to Nan Madol. Some ancient ruins of a people that lived in 500 A.D.

We called this the tree of Life. The water isn't very deep because of the coral reef that surounds the island.

Jackson diving at a waterfall. We had such a marvelous trip and it was the chance of a lifetime to go be both tourists and missionaries. We loved spending our time with Grandma and Grandpa. They are awesome missionaries and they truly love the people. The Pohnpeians are so nice and generous. We loved getting to know them and their culture.

Jackson's Arsenal team was in the Sparta Cup Soccer Tournament and they won!!!

You have to love African Ice on a hot day.....

We did a lot of boating this year! Spencer learned how to body board surf!

We had a lot of fun with our Woolsey cousins when they were here in July.

My First Triathlon

I wish I had a picture, but that was one thing I forgot to bring to my first triathlon, "Women of Steel". It was a sprint triathlon which means it was a 300 meter swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 3 mile run. It was actually a lot of fun and I want to do it again. My sister Angie asked me 2 days before if I wanted to do it because one of her friends couldn't. It was in American Fork and was a beautiful day (which was so nice since we have had so many rainy days). The best part was that I did it with my Mom and two sisters, Angie and Teresa.

Since Matt's parents just left for their mission to the Micronesian Islands, I thought I would start blogging again so that they(and everyone else) can see what we have been doing.
So here we go.....

We just got back from beautiful Lake Powell. We had awesome weather (in the 80's) and the water temp. was 62 (so not too bad...a dry suit helped with skiing though).

Spencer won 3rd place in the 2nd grade for his science fair project. He found out what dissolves in water.

Jackson also got 3rd place in the 3rd grade for his science fair project (didn't that work out well? ) He found out what substances made nails rust the fastest....the winner? Water!

Lily has discovered her tongue! It looks like Seth has too! :) She sticks it out all the time.

We're having a fun time playing games and eating lots of yummy food on New Year's Eve. We spent it with Grandma and Grandpa Kjar and had a lot of fun. Spencer is wearing his tie dyed shirt that he made from his Aunt Maria.

This year Jackson was Darth Maul, Spencer was Comander Cody (Star Wars), Seth was Anikan (if that's how you spell it :) Skywalker, Taylor was Buzz Lightyear, and as you can see Matt and I are M & M's. We had a fun Halloween!!!!

Spencer and Lily 3 and a half weeks old...a lot of people say she kind of looks like Spencer and I can see it in this picture.

Seth and Lily 3 weeks old...Seth is SO good to take care of Lily and is always so concerned about her.

Sweet Lily is 3 weeks old! Her first smile caught on camera--who care's if it's a digestive one :)

Our sweet Lily is here safe and sound. I was induced on Thurs. Aug. 27th and my sister Angie was my nurse. Everything couldn't have gone more perfectly. I got to the room at 10:00 am, she started pitosin at 10:30 am, I got my epidural at 10:45 am and I was a "6" and then at noon I was complete. The doctor came at 12:20 and I pushed for 10 minutes and Lily was born!

All of the boys are really excited to have a baby sister. It has been so fun to see them want to hold her and take care of her.

Pregnancy Update....

It's definitely time for an update. We have been so busy traveling the last month that I haven't been very good about updating our blog. We've had a Miles family reunion, a Flamming Gorge boating trip, and Lake Powell (all of which were very fun).
I was worried a little about going to Lake Powell even though I was only 35 and a half weeks because I was dialated to a 3 and 50%. Things went well though except for one scare during the night when I wouldn't stop contracting.
I will be 37 weeks on this Thursday and it will be interesting to see when this little girl will come. I've been contracting quite a bit and so we'll see.....!!!!

4th of July fun......we went to Grandma and Grandpa Kjar's and had fun doing all of the small town festivities. The boys loved it because their cousins, Summer, Anna, and Megan (who live in New York) were there!

They loved playing on the big blow up things at the Aurora park.

It was Seth's 5th birthday on June 28th! He had a great one!

He had a "Cars" party and they made their own cars and had races in our circle.

This is Matt's family up in Ashton, ID for his Grandma Stronk's funeral.

The boys had a lot of fun at Lagoon a few weeks ago!

We went to Lava Hot Springs for the Kjar reunion and we had a lot of fun. This is Matt and Jackson going off of the 2nd platform!

Summer Fun

We are having a lot of fun this summer....here's the boys at the zoo.

We went to Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country with our Miles cousins. They had a great time!

We also went to the Aquarium in Sandy with our Miles cousins. It was the first time we have been there. They had a lot of fun. They let you touch the rays.
Here we are at the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house. It's beautiful inside and it was a great experience for the boys.
My sister Mindy had her second baby girl a couple of weeks ago. Her name is Brynley and she's SO cute!
This will be us in two more months with a little girl! (Although we're missing Taylor in the picture)

Memorial Day Fun

We went 4-wheeling with our great dental school friends, the Hardy's, on Memorial Day up in Rock Springs, WY. Jackson afterward said, "This was the best day of my life!".

Spencer has a lot of fun too. He has never rode a small 4-wheeler that he could drive on his own and so he was lovin' it.

Seth and Taylor loved riding with Matt. It was great to see and catch up with the Hardy's too.

Lake Powell

We had a great time going to Lake Powell the week after we went to Florida. The weather was great and we had so much fun being with our Miles cousins!

We had a great time in Florida from April 24th to May 1st. Matt had an endo conference and we went with most of Matt's family. It was SO fun....we loved it!

The kids had fun on their Easter Egg hunt with their Miles cousins.
We were able to spend some time in Aurora too with Grandma and Grandpa Kjar and their Woolsey cousins. They had a great Easter Egg hunt there too.
We were so glad we could spend time with Jen and Kyle and their kids. They are from Washington and we don't get to see them as often as we would like. This is Alaina, Taylor, Aurora, Anne Elise, and Seth at farm country at Thanksgiving Point.

IT'S A GIRL!

We still are all in shock but are so excited because we are having a GIRL! I still can't really believe it. I asked the ultra sound tech if she was sure and she said she was very sure! We are all quite happy and surprised. I really thought we were having another boy....but now after 4 boys I can be excited for a girl!

We had such a nice week last week and the boys loved playing outside. It has been so cold and snowy today. I'm ready for spring!

We went to the Clark Planetarium the other day and had a great time. We saw the "Ultimate Universe" in their dome theater and we had fun!

P.S. In two more weeks we find out if we're having a boy or girl!

We now have our computer back after getting rebuilt. We lost our hard drive which was the worst news ever because we lost about 3 years of pictures that we didn't back up. A word to the wise....make sure you back up your pictures. You never know when you will lose your hard drive. It makes me sad--at least I hadn't cleared our memory card in our camara since Sept. so that was a blessing. I'm having a hard time uploading my pictures and so I will try again soon.

FIVE BOYS?

For all of you who don't know....I am expecting! I'm 9 weeks today (due Sept. 3rd) and we are all very excited. I have been sick, but I am hanging in there. Morning sickness (or all day sickness) isn't fun, but I keep reminding myself that it is worth it. The boys are excited and at first wanted a sister, but now they all want another brother so we will see if we will complete our basketball team or not!

CHRISTMAS!

We had a Great Christmas! My family had Christmas together up at a Lodge at Snydermill near Park City. It was so fun to be all together.

My mom gave all of the grandkids Christmas pj's on Christmas Eve and my sister Camie made cute fleece blankets for all of them.

Last Saturday we had a fun family Christmas party with Matt's family. His parents are going to be visiting Merry and Maria and their families for Christmas and so we had an early Christmas with them. The boys could not wait to open presents. We had a great time! Grandma and Grandpa, you were too good to us!

The Play Room is Complete!

The boys have really enjoyed having our pirate ship/castle room done. Matt has made it so that they can go all around the room whether it's on the monkey bars, zip line, rock wall, and ledges. It's definitely a room for boys.

Thanksgiving at Grandpa and Grandma Kjar's

The boys had a lot of fun four wheeling up in the hills behind Grandma and Grandpa's house!

We went bowling after a great Thanksgiving dinner and had a great time.

Reflections

Jackson placed in his age group for 3-D arts! He built a school out of scraps of wood that we had from the basement and he painted it. He has his Dad's talent of putting things together! It's moving on to the next level or we would have a picture of it. Great job Jackson!
Spencer also placed in his age group for visual arts. He painted a picture of the sun and planets and it's moving on as well. Spencer has always loved art and he is talented. We are so proud of you Spence!

Jackson won 3rd place for the fastest car in the pinewood derby! He also got an award for the college educated car because it was a University of Louisville car. Great job Jackson....and Dad too for helping:) He also received his bobcat!

Our Busy and Fun Week...

Jackson was baptized today! It was such a great day and we are so proud of him. We had a lot of family come and we missed those that couldn't be there, but you were there in spirit!

We had a great Halloween! Thanks to Matt's work he and I had costumes. They always dress up for Halloween and visit dentists. The kids were Woody, Prince Caspian, a Commando guy, and a dragon. The weather was so nice. I think it was the warmest Halloween I ever remember.

Jackson turned eight on the 28th and he had a great Birthday! He invited some friends and we went and saw High School Musical 3!

Ice Blocking

Today we saw Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Heidi's new baby, Wyatt. He's SO cute!
Jeremy took us ice blocking after and the kids loved it! Seth was determined to get good at it.

The Pirate Ship

We are finishing one room in our basement and it's going to be a pirate ship/toy room/bedroom. Matt and his brother Jake framed it and it's really coming along now. Here's a "before" picture and hopefully we'll have an "after" picture very soon. There will be a slide coming out of the middle of the ship. The boys can't wait until it's finished.

Mobile Home and Snow Fun

We had a mobile home we could use this weekend and so we went on vacation in our driveway. The boys slept in it and we watched movies and played a lot of games. They are playing Disney's scene it in this picture. They had fun playing in the first snow storm of the year too.

We wanted to go boating one last time this year and so we went to Utah lake on Friday afternoon. We went with our neighbor, Nikole and we had a lot of fun!

The Clubhouse is Complete

Matt and the boys just finished putting the final touches on the clubhouse they built this summer. They even built some simple furniture for it too. Of course Matt has done most of the building,but all of the boys and neighborhood kids have hammered in quite a few nails. It's nice because our firepit is right next to it and so now I have a wood counter that I can make the boys and all of the neighborhood kids smores on.

School 's Fun Run

Can you believe it? I'm actually starting our blog. We had an enrichment night this week where they walked through each step on starting a blog and so I figured I had no excuse after that. Plus I enjoy so many of your blogs and I love seeing your kids grow up and so I thought I'd better start one too.
